Day 23 - IPL 2

MI vs RCB - kind of a boring match, actually. I don't think either of these teams are IPL champion material. Mumbai played well though, scoring 157 with Duminy and Rahane completing their half centuries. And RCB finished well short despite the efforts of Boucher towards the end.

Then it was the turn of ऊपर से first vs नीचे से first. And just when you thought that KKR couldn't sink any lower, they found it in themselves to dig a little deeper to a new bottom by setting a target of 124 on a good batting pitch and that too because of a late burst from Agarkar (the shame). DD, or as one commentator called them, DareDelhi, continued their superlative performance and completed a very clinical win over the hapless KKR. Does look like a DD vs CSK finals at this stage.

Ooh and BTW Ramiz Raja thinks that Laxman Sivaramakrishnan should do only day games. Hahahaha. Because it's so cold, get it?? Hahahahah. Get it? No? Neither do I.

Saina Nehwal's passport

Saina Nehwal says:

I am really sad about the way they treat sportpersons in the country. I mean, it is their responsibility to take care of the sportspersons not only about cricket but other sports as well.

Don't get me wrong, the very fact that Saina Nehwal's passport was delayed is tragic. Thank goodness the MEA has decided to remedy that.

But isn't making this another one of those cricket vs other sports debates trivalizing the issue? What about all those other Indians who need their passports on time to see a beloved one for the last time or see their grandkids for the very first time? Is their urgency less important? Isn't the government supposed to take care of all its citizens? There's a bigger picture in this story that will be missed by many. What to do but? Indian citizen - चलता है, no?

गंध

The word गंध, I'm sure has many connotations across India.
Example 1: इस फूल का गंध सॉलिड है यार (Aroma)
Example 2: मुनाफ पटेल की फील्डिंग गंद है (More Bambayya for गंदगी)
Example 3: Chennai - Wonder if they're referring to example 1 or 2.P.S: Pardon the errors in Hindi, it's been a while.
